The Helsinki Book Fair 24.–27.10.2024 is at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. The Theme of the Helsinki Book Fair 2024 is THE FUTURE.
The Helsinki Book Fair promotes reading, the appreciation of literature and book sales in Finland. The event is a nationally significant cultural forum – a topical pioneer, a challenging debater, a storyteller and a cultivator of the heart. The Book Fair’s core values are freedom of expression, equality and respect for human dignity.

The Helsinki Book Fair is also home to the Record Fair, the Stamp Fair, and the Antiquarian Book Fair, which is organised annually in cooperation with the Finnish Antiquarian Booksellers Association.

HELSINKI BOOK FAIR 2024 IN NUMBERS & PROGRAMME
2024 will feature 308 exhibitors and 7900 square metres of exhibiton space.
In 2023, the Helsinki Book Fair was visited by 88 071 literature lovers.
Helsinki Book Fair 2024 will be located in Halls 6 and 7.
Helsinki Book Fair will have 17 stages. More than 1500 exhibitors and almost 1000 programmes.

At the same time as the Helsinki Book Fair, the Wine & Food and On the Plate Fair (Sat & Sun) will be held in Halls 1, 2 and 3.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE EVENT
- The Future debates
Every day at 12 noon, Helsingin Sanomat and Helsinki Book Fair will hold joint discussion on the future of reading, writing and Finnish literature in the year 2064. The discussions will also be streamed on hs.fi. The discussions will be moderated by Aino Miikkulainen of Helsingin Sanomat and Ville Blåfield of Helsinki Book Fair. - BookGram
BookGram, booktok, book blogs and other book saga communities will organise discussions on the Töölönlahti platform. The BookGram also has its own meeting place near the stage. - Nature cover and the climate crisis
The climate crisis and the need to respond to the nature cover will be the topics of the Kruununhaka stage at the Tiedetori Science Centre, the Future debate and other exhibition programmes. - Social debates and world politics
Many discussions will focus on Ukraine, Russia and the possibility of peace, and the Book Fair will also welcome guests from Ukraine. In addition to the current situation in the Middle East, the Book Fair will also take a look at Middle Eastern history and Persian poetry. The US Presidential Election and world politics will be discussed, for example from the perspective of the Washington correspondent of Helsingin Sanomat. - Presidents at the Fair
President of the Republic Alexander Stubb will visit the Helsinki Book Fair on Thursday, President Tarja Halonen at the weekend. - Audiobooks and artificial intelligence
The future of audiobooks and the impact of artificial intelligence on literature are the subject of many debates. - Translators and translations
Translators and translations of world literature – both into and from Finnish – will be on display, especially at Töölö stage.
The theme of the children’s area is space
The Book Fair invites children to go to space, on a star trail and on a character parade.
A record number of programmes
The Book Fair will feature 17 stages and more than 30 international author guests.
Book Promotion Award
The Book Promotion Award is awarded for the third time at the Helsinki Book Fair.
